Blue Spruce

Picea pungens, the blue spruce, is a medium-sized evergreen tree growing to 82–98 feet tall, with some as large as 150 ft tall, and with a trunk diameter of up to well over 4 feet.  The bark is thin and gray, with narrow vertical furrows.  The crown is conic in younger trees, becoming cylindric in older trees.  The leaves are needle-like, dull greenish-gray to brighter blue.
